What is an ELO?
An ELO, or Extended Learning Opportunity, empowers students to explore a topic of study they enjoy in an individualized and creative manner outside of the traditional education environment. This method of learning personalizes a student’s education in a way that traditional classroom settings often struggle to do. Students involved in an ELO have access to community partnerships that support their learning, such as painting a car with custom graphics with the support of a local business. These experiences bring relevance to the learning and engage students in a way that textbooks can’t. Because of this, students are better prepared for life beyond high school making the ELO a powerful transition tool for all students.
