About Us

Strafford Learning Center is a private, non-profit organization incorporated in 1973. The Board of Directors and staff are committed to offering high quality special education and related supports to 900 students in over thirty school districts throughout the region.

Strafford Learning Center has seven “members” consisting of the following School Administrative Units and serving their respective school districts: SAU 74 (Barrington); SAU 11 (Dover); SAU 61 (Farmington and Middleton), SAU 64 (Milton and Wakefield), SAU 44 (Northwood, Nottingham, Strafford), SAU 5 (Oyster River), and SAU 56 (Rollinsford, Somersworth).  These “members” share governance of the organization.

The mission statement of Strafford Learning Center is:

Through dynamic collaboration, Strafford Learning Center is responsive to the evolving needs of school districts, students and families. Our community of dedicated professionals is committed to supporting all learners in reaching their highest potential.

To accomplish this mission, Strafford Learning Center has a diverse professional staff working in tandem with area school districts and partners.
