Blast Off!

Students in the STEM program at COA used rocketry to bridge math and physical science.  The goal of this project based learning was to show that science and math can be fun and rewarding.  With the help of the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center students created and launched rockets that had everyone looking up.  Students were able to calculate trajetory and make predictions on how successful their rockets would be in flight.  Students designed and refined their rockets to increase flight time and distance, with some going over the mill building!  A special thanks to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center for helping us enrich this project based learning sesison!
