ELO Asian Studies

ELO Hub students can delve deeply into whatever their passion is. For some students, that means diving into and exploring a career field, but for others it means immersion in a foreign culture.  This student took us on a trip to Japan without ever leaving town. She dug into the language, history and culture of Japan, and brought it to life through her projects and presentation. One of the highlights of this journey was learning the cultural relevance of the Japanese Tea Ceremony. She used that knowledge to host a Japanese Tea Ceremony as part of her ELO presentation at the end of the course.  Her studies of Japanese clothing, culture and history also provided her the opportunity to imagine, design and create her own Yukata, a traditional piece of clothing, which she wore during her tea ceremony presentation.
