NH Vocational Rehabilitation and Strafford Learning Center’s Earn & Learn Program helps students develop employment skills while earning English credit and getting paid.  All students will develop a transition portfolio.

  • Dates and Times: July 9th thru August 2nd, 4 days per week; Monday - Thursday, 8-2:30

  •  Student Population: The program will accommodate 8-10 students, ages 16 and above. Students must have a documented disability that will impact employment. Participants will be expected to work independently in a community job site for up to three hours per day.  
  • Daily Structure: Mornings: classroom activities related to career development, transition and English credit attainment.  Afternoons: work in the community
  • Credit Attainment Possible: One English credit with possible additional ELO credit
  • Staff: Terrill Covey, Certified Educator, ELO Facilitator at Strafford Leaning Center Jill Heath, Certified Educator, Social Worker and Consultant
  • Cost: District contribution is $982 (remainder of the tuition is covered by NH Vocational Rehabilitation).
  • Location: The instructional component will be at Strafford Learning Center’s Charles Ott Academy Canal Street location.
  • Transportation: Transportation to and from program will be the responsibility of the student.
  • NH Vocational RehabilitationSuccessful applicants will be Vocational Rehabilitation eligible and may be required to complete a VR application to participate.


ApplicationStudent candidates will be required to complete an application and an interview for a position in the program. Please review the attached documents which explain the application process, program structure and design.
